G. K. Ananthasuresh earned his bachelor’s degree from IIT-Madras, master’s from the University of Toledo, and PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, all in mechanical engineering. He is currently a Professor in Mechanical Engineering and the Dean of the Division of Mechanical Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. His principal research interests are compliant mechanisms and topology optimization with applications in microelectromechanical systems, biomechanics of cells, biomedical devices, and microrobotics. In addition to research output of about 320 journal and conference publications and 18 patents, his research group has spun off five startups (BendFlex, Mimyk, Translead Medtech, InFab, and StrideAIde). He is a co-author or a sole author of two textbooks, five edited books, and 18 book chapters. He and his students have been recognized with 15 best paper awards and 10 design prizes. His work is recognized with National Science Foundation (USA) Early Career Award, Society of Automotive Engineers Ralph R. Teeter Educational Award (USA) as well as Swarnajayanthi Fellowship, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, and Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship from the Government of India. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineers.

Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan is Director and Ram Charan Chair Professor in Innovation and Leadership at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). He was earlier Director of IIM Indore. He held the Jamuna Raghavan Chair in Entrepreneurship at IIMB from 2007 to 2010. Prof. Krishnan was educated at IIT Kanpur, Stanford University and IIM Ahmedabad. He has been listed in the Thinkers50 India list of most influential management thinkers from India. Apart from academic publications, Prof. Krishnan has written two best-selling books on innovation. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in Fall 2008.

Anshuman Awasthi serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Powertrain Development at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) in Bangalore. Additionally, he spearheads the Innovation Program at MBRDI. He earned his Aerospace Engineering degree at IIT Madras and completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen, Germany.
Anshuman began his automotive career at General Motors Technical Centre India, specializing in thermal management and safety, before joining MBRDI in 2009. He has led teams in functional evaluation and developed pioneering mathematical models. As Head of R&D for Powertrain Development, Anshuman oversees software, functions, EE, design development (CAD/CAE), and advanced data analytics & science. Additionally, he heads Innovation at MBRDI.

B. Gurumoorthy is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Science in the Department of Design and Manufacturing(DM) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Presently he is also serving as the Director of the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development(SID), a Section 8 company established by IISc to serve as the outreach interface for the beneficial exploitation of the innovations and the human potential existing at the Indian Institute of Science. His research interests are in the areas of CAD, Product Information Modelling, Computational Metrology and Product design and prototyping. He did his B.Tech at IIT Madras in 1982 followed by M.E. and Ph.D at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA in 1984 and 1987 respectively (all in Mechanical Engineering). He has guided 18 PhD dissertations and is presently supervising or co-supervising 6 PhD students. He has 55 Journal publications and 6 patents. He serves on the editorial board of five journals. He is currently the Vice-Chair, Asia-Pacific, IFIP WG 5.1 on Global Product Development for the Whole Life Cycle. Two technologies (automatic feature recognition and visual interactive solids) developed in his laboratory have been licensed to industry.

Uday Bondhugula is the founder, CEO, and CTO at PolyMage
Labs and a professor of computer science at the Indian
Institute of Science (IISc), in Bangalore, India. His research
interests lie in the areas of high-performance computing,
compilers, polyhedral framework, automatic parallelization,
and high-performance systems/accelerators for deep
learning and artificial intelligence. He received his Ph.D.
from the Ohio State University in 2008 and his Bachelor’s in
Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology,
Madras, in 2004. He is the original author and maintainer of
Pluto, a source-to-source loop parallelization and
optimization tool based on the polyhedral framework. He
recently received the ACM SIGPLAN Most Influential Paper

Dr. Suryasarathi Bose is a Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering,
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. Prior to joining IISc Bangalore as a
faculty member in 2011, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Katholieke
University of Leuven (Belgium), where he was hosted by Prof. Paula Moldenaers.
He received his PhD in Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology
(IIT) Bombay. Prof. Bose’s research interests include recycling and upcycling of
plastics, Vitrimers, membranes for water remediation and desalination, hybrid
nanostructured material for heavy metal adsorption, structure property
correlation in polymer blends and nanocomposites, concentration fluctuation
and segmental dynamics in multiphase systems, directed self-assembly using
demixing in polymer blends as a tool, and materials for EMI shielding and
microwave absorption. Prof. Bose has published more than 250 articles in
journals of international repute. He is the recipient of many awards and
accolades, including the prestigious Swarnajayanti Fellowship from the
Department of Science and Technology (DST) and SERB, Government of India,
NASI Scopus Young Scientist Award, Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineer State
Award, Young Scientist award of the Asian Polymer Association, Prof. Kaushal
Kishore Memorial Award of SPSI, the Young Innovator Award, the Young Engineer
Award from the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Indian
National Science Academy (INSA) Medal for Young Scientist, the Polymer
Processing Society (PPS) Young Scientist Award, the DAE-BRNS Young Scientist
